Chuck has been working with Mentor since 1993. He was instrumental in developing several courses for Mentor, including OPC, IMS and VM. He has over thirty years of computer experience, working as a computer operator, applications programmer, instructor and manager. From 1969 to 1992, he was with the IBM Corporation where he led teams of computer programmers in many development efforts including the portable terminal used by IBM Customer Engineers. This project is known as Digital Communication System (DCS). While at IBM, Chuck created many and taught all of the Computer Operator courses such as Basic and Advanced Operator Education (8 -10 week intensive computer operator training), JCL, IMS/MTO, JES2, JES3, Teleprocessing, CICS, VM and Presentation Skills. He also created and taught all of the Programmer Technician Education classes including Intro to Programming (PL/I), Advanced JCL, and Assembler Language. Mr. Lucas also became curriculum owner of Programmer Education. Chuck was the System Support manager for three strategic IBM products. These products were SMP/E, RACF and RMF. He played an integral role in the setup of Level 1 and Level 2 education for his department and all of System Support in the Northeast. |
