Dr. Narayan Murthy

 

Dr. Narayan Murthy has been a consultant to Mentor for several years, primarily involved with UNIX and internet-related education.

Dr. Murthy has been involved in education for over 33 years and in IT education since 1981. He taught at Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY from 1981 to 1984 and since 1984 at Pace University, where he currently holds the positions of Professor of Computer Science at Pleasantville, NY and Chairperson, Department of Computer Science at Westchester, NY.

Dr. Murthy has developed a considerable amount of courseware, in topics such as Introduction to Unix, Shell Programming, Writing Java Applets, Writing CGI Scripts Using Perl, for Pace University Computer Learning Center.

Dr Murthy has had extensive experience teaching UNIX/C/C++, HTML, Java, javaScript and CGI Scripts as well as extensive experience in developing the Computer Science Web server: http://cs.pace.edu.

Dr. Murthy holds a Ph.D in Mathematics and an M.S. in Computer Science both from University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI. He is the holder of a number of awards from The University of Rhode Island, Kingston, and the University of Mysore, India. He has also authored several IT related papers.
