Introduction: The Removable Media Manager (DFSMSrmm) is the functional component of DFSMS/MVS that helps manage removable media such as tape (both cartridges and reels) and optical (CD-ROM) volumes. DFSMSrmm maintains an on-line inventory of removable media resources. This inventory and DFSMSrmm provide you with resource management efficiencies much like the disk management functions of DFSMS/MVS. This course describes the benefits to be gained from DFSMSrmm and the steps required to obtain these benefits. It teaches the steps involved in using DFSMSrmm's ISPF dialogue to manage tapes in a DFSMSrmm-managed library. Audience: This course is intended for operators, planners and managers of MVS systems who will be using DFSMSrmm to manage a tape library.
